The Realtime® Technology on your e-commerce website

Lately we talked about ecommerce platforms and how we could use the Realtime technology in it. In this article we’ll talk about our latest work: Auctions and how we can turn it into something more interesting that it is today.

Since we’ve been working on Content Management Systems, our feature is based under an auction extension, for Joomla!

We used the BFAuction Extention as an example on how to turn a traditional auction system, into a more interesting tool with the help of Realtime®.

On our previous posts, we talked about the importance of having realtime in your Content Managment System (CMS) and we showed you the Joomla! Realtime® Extension.

But a CMS is not only a way to easily update your content pages. Due to an infitite number of plugins and extensions, you can grow to a much bigger website and turn it into a community, auction, online real state agency or an on-line shop.

Installing the Joomla! Extension

In one of my previous posts, I talked about connecting Content Management Systems and the Realtime® technology.

At the time we’ve made a Wordpress plugin and now we have a Joomla! extension. The features are quite similar but it is all built in a plugin and a module for com_content and a plugin for com_user components.

Every time you post an article on a category list view (blog), it will show up in that list. If you remove or change an article, it will be updated in Realtime® using the xRTML technology.
